This talk follows a group of Japanese sanitation workers on a solidarity trip from Tokyo to Chennai, India. In this talk, the speaker will explore how transnational connections are being realized and forged in grassroots projects of international solidarity. In particular, the speaker will examine how the wounds of social marginalization can serve to foster – or disrupt – such connections.
