Bio

Mingrui Wen is a Ph.D. student in Comparative Literature with a Designated Emphasis in Critical Theory at University of California, Davis. His research interests stand at the intersection of film, literature, and culture, with a specialized focus on modern and contemporary Chinese, Sinophone, and Anglophone contexts. He currently co-directs the interdisciplinary Graduate Working Group on Comparative Media Studies across campus.

He has received various awards including the East Asian Studies Graduate Student Research Award, Comparative Literature Summer Research Award, and the Summer Research Award for Graduate Student of Color, among other honors.

At UC Davis, he teaches courses on world literatures, cinemas, and cultures. Prior to Davis, he was an instructor for the M.A. Programs in Chinese Studies and Intercultural Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
